Thoughts I Lost in the Laundry is a collection of poems about loneliness, loss, and working from home. Expect uncertainty, lots of references to tea, and pieces titled after lost and loved socks. It quietly captures the mood of a generation stuck inside, stuck working from home, stuck on Zoom meetings, stuck in life.

ADVANCE PRAISE FOR THOUGHTS I LOST IN THE LAUNDRY

"A delicate spin cycle of grief, frustration & the absurdism of pretending everything is fine"

- Jo Gatford, author of The Woman's Part

"This collection questions the way that chores and the weekend/work-week cycle frame life, and the circumstances under which we find ourselves acting in genuine interest with others, rather than the non-questions of small talk, such as How are you? How was your weekend? Instead, Butler uncovers earnest answers in authentic responses, and meaning in the minutiae, ultimately confessing:

'Sometimes I like lost things

it reminds me there are still things to find.'"

- Alison Lubar, author of Philosophers Know Nothing About Love, queer feast, sweet euphemism, It Skips a Generation, and METAMOURPHOSIS
